Winter is right around the corner, and December holidays are rapidly approaching!
MFCC is partnering with the United Church of Milton, Cornerstone Community Church, New Life Christian Church, Milton Town School District, and many other organizations and like-minded folks to run a Holiday Helpers program that will connect families in need with gifts for their children. Last year, we were able to make sure that 270 children from 117 different families had gifts to open for the holidays, and we expect to meet or exceed that number this year.
Want to be a Holiday Helper, and sponsor a family?
Thank you so much for wanting to make a child’s holiday a little brighter this year.
Step 1: Fill out this form.
From there, the MFCC team will match you with a family. The goal is to match you within 1-2 weeks.
Step 2: You will be sent the anonymous family number in addition to information on the children (i.e. ages, wish list, favorite colors, clothing size, etc.). You will not be given any other identifying information.
The number of gifts and monetary value you buy per child is up to you. We just ask that if your family has multiple children the gifts are “even”.
Step 3: Bring your unwrapped gifts to the United Church of Milton (51 Main St., Milton, VT 05468) on any of the following dates/time:
- Monday, Dec. 2nd from 10AM – 2PM
- Tuesday, Dec. 3rd from 10AM – 2PM
- Wednesday, Dec. 4th from 10AM – 2PM AND 4 – 7PM
- Thursday, Dec. 5th from 10AM – 2PM
- Tuesday, Dec. 10th from 10AM – 2PM
- Wednesday, Dec. 11th from 10AM – 2PM AND 4PM – 7PM
Make sure that your unwrapped gift(s) are clearly marked with family number and child number. Thank you for the support!
For more information or any questions, please contact Gabby at gfenton@miltonfamilycenter.org
MFCC will be closed December 20th, 2024 through January 2nd, 2025.
Are you looking to receive assistance?
Step 1: Make sure your household qualifies.
- The child(ren) must live with you. If the child does not live with you (e.g. you are their grandparent), you unfortunately do not qualify.
- A child can only be entered once. In the case of split custody, please decide among yourselves who will register the child(ren) and pick them gifts up.
- You have not signed up to receive help through another organization this year.
- You live in one of the following Vermont towns:
- Milton
- Cambridge
- Colchester
- Essex, Essex Jct.
- Fairfax
- Georgia
- Grand Isle
- South Hero
- Westford
- Williston
- Winooski
- Or you have used at least 1 of MFCC’s services since July 1, 2024 (like Playgroup, Home Visiting, Early Childcare Program or Food Shelf)
If you do not qualify, please call us at (802) 893-1457 to see how we can help. We may refer you to a closer (to you) agency!
Step 2: Fill out the Holiday Helper sign up form or come to MFCC to fill out the form in-person.
If you are new to MFCC, or do not use our services regularly, in addition to the filling out the above form, you may be asked to:
- Provide Parent(s)/guardian(s) ID*
- Provide Child(ren)’s Birth/Adoption Certificate(s)*
- Complete a General Intake form
You will not be considered signed up until we have these documents. This step must be completed by December 1, 2024, in order to receive Holiday Help.
*We can see these documents in person, or you can email a picture of them to Gabby at gfenton@miltonfamilycenter.org.
Step 3: You will receive your Family Number. If you signed up online you will receive an email from Gabby (at gfenton@miltonfamilycenter.org).
Step 4: Pick up unwrapped gifts on December 14, 2024, between 10AM – 3PM, at the United Church of Milton (51 Main St., Milton, VT).
You’ll be able to pull up to any open parking spot. A volunteer will come to your vehicle and ask you for only your family number (assigned to you in Step 3). They will then bring you your unwrapped family’s gift(s). There is no need to get out of your car!
Please note:
- This is a donor-sponsored program, we cannot guarantee what your family’s Helper(s) will buy.
- Your identifying information (like your name) is confidential and will not be given to Holiday Helpers.
