Learning Together offers individuals at all levels and abilities the opportunity to access information and resources in education and employment training and to gain key life and personal development skills that will enrich their lives as citizens, learners and parents. An emphasis on balancing life, work, and home enables participants to focus on healthy habits and boosting self-esteem. Participants can get connected to programs to complete high school diploma or earn their G.E.D.; connect to postsecondary opportunities; establish potential ‘work world’ connections; gain computer and professional writing skills; and learn effective communication, parenting, and problem solving techniques.

Summer Wellness Series

Learning Together is hosting weekly Summer Wellness events in the Community Garden on Thursday mornings. Join us for a little “me” time & friendship in the garden! All events take place from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM outside the Community Center. Events are free and for ages 16+. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Register by clicking here

-July 8: Story Cards, Journaling, and Poetry
Please bring a poem, a personal story and or a book you enjoy. What or who inspires you?

-July 15: Yoga with Lonnie Poland of Experience Yoga
Breath in the fresh air while gently treating your body to healing yoga. Please bring a yoga mat and a smile.

-July 22: Sound Bath with Michele Nappi proprietor of Moonlight Gifts
Learn about the health benefits of music. A Sound Bath is an immersion in beautiful sounds and vibrations that are healing for your body and calm your mind. Drums, Singing Bowls, Rattles and chimes will be used.

-August 5: Fresh Air, Unplugging Ourselves, and Aromatherapy
Spend time outdoors, unplug from technology, and feel calmer, happier, and healthier with aromas from the garden and essential oils.

-August 12: Gratitude, Setting Goals, and The 3 c’s to Decision Making
Find out how practicing gratitude can help you reach your goals. How do you make important decisions?

-August 19: Soft Skills: Attitude, Communication, Adaptability
Who me? What attitude? Discuss the importance of clear communication and listening in our personal and professional lives.
