MFCC Early Childhood Programs & Milton After School Kids (MASK) Childcare Stabilization – Self Certification (for enrolled families only)
The MFCC Early Childhood Programs’ mission is to expand upon each child’s learning experience by creating an age-appropriate environment that is safe, nurturing and fun. Our programs offer a play-based curriculum where activities are developed from each child’s abilities and interests. These interests are then expanded upon to foster individual growth and natural curiosity. Our program environment promotes self-esteem and encourages self-respect and respect for others.
Milton Family Community Center has three classrooms that serve children under the age of 5, in developmentally appropriate multi-age groups, with very low teacher to child ratios, individualized support, access to specialized education programs and consultants, and a regular routine that allows for some flexibility that meets to the individual needs of each child within the the daily schedule. Our routines include: circle time, small and large group activities, gross motor play, sensory play, snack and lunch time, nap time, and special projects. Our program is a Vermont pre-qualified preschool program, and Act 166 funding is available for eligible families.
Our play-based programs are able to encourage and support healthy growth for children in all domains: approaches to learning; social and emotional; language, literacy and communication; mathematics; science; social studies; creative expression; and physical development and health. Experienced, nurturing teachers keep play guided, structured, and appropriate.
MFCC’s full time childcare programs participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The program serves breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals served meet USDA nutritional requirements and are served family style. Menus will be provided monthly. Details and food program philosophy available upon enrollment.
