In April 2020, the Milton Family Community Center’s emergency food shelf was the recipient of the Vermonters Feeding Vermonters Mini Grant. The funds can be used to purchase Vermont grown fruits and vegetables, and in June was opened to purchase Vermont farmed eggs, meat and dairy.
Community Outreach Coordinator at MFCC, Jessica Hood secured 120 pounds of Boyden Beef which will be distributed in 5 pound packages to MFCC food shelf participants within the next couple of weeks as part of their monthly food shelf pick up.
We would like to thank Mark Boyden of Boyden Farm for partnering with us and look forward to serving our community with the Vermont grown, high quality beef of Boyden Farm.
The Vermonters Feeding Vermonters Grant has also allowed us to purchase beautiful produce throughout the season from Intervale Community Farm in Burlington Vermont, and start conversations with Arbor Farmstead of Grand Isle as well as Hudack Farm in Saint Albans, Vermont.
